The Tri-Valley Weather Station is a
cooperative effort of The Village of Downs ESDA (Emergency Services and
Disaster Agency, The Downs Firefighters Association and Tri-Valley
Schools. The Station, located high atop Tri-Valley Middle School, will
be used for both educational and operational purposes by the School
District, as well as for storm spotting, warning and reporting by Downs
ESDA, and for wind direction and speed monitoring by the Downs Fire
Department. The station is a model Vantage Pro II connected wirelessly
from the sensing suite to a console located inside of the school. The
console is connected directly to a Pentium IV PC running Weatherlink 5.5
software. This software creates the web pages and images necessary to
display the data. The pages and images are uploaded internally via the
internal network to the Tri-Valley web server. The web server can then
serve the data to the world.
