PTO will be hosting a Craft Fair at the elementary school on Saturday, November 9th from 9:00 a.m- 2:00 p.m. There are going to be several events also taking place on the district campus which include a high school playoff game (gates open at noon) and Tri-Valley Tide youth basketball games at the Middle School 10 AM- 4PM. If you are coming to the craft show we would like to ask that you please park in lot across from the elementary school and next to the district office. If there is a need for overflow parking, you will be able to use the high school lot closest to the elementary back doors.

Come cheer on the Vikings Football team at home on Saturday at 2PM for the second round playoff game as they take on Chicago Christian Palos Heights. Gates open at 12PM. Tickets are $7 for all spectators including TV students. Per IHSA no passes will be accepted. NFHS Network live stream also available.

Come cheer on the Vikings at home on Friday at 7PM for the first round playoff game. Gates open at 5PM. Tickets are $5 for all spectators including TV students. No passes will be accepted. The Tri-Valley Athletic Boosters will have two concessions stands. The main, inside stand will feature pulled pork sandwiches and the second stand at the track shed will have gondolas, candy, and drinks as well as caramel apples and hot chocolate.

On Sunday, October 20th from 1:00-3:00 (with a rain date of October 27th), Tri-Valley High School students from Key Club and National Honor Society will go door to door asking for donations for UNICEF. Please consider donating to this organization. UNICEF works in over 190 countries to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence. Food, first aid supplies, clean water, and school-in-a-box kids are some of the items we fund.

The Village of Downs will be conducting some short-term road work on E. Washington Street, in front of the elementary school, on Friday, October 11th and Monday, October 14th. E. Washington Street will be blocked off from 7 AM until 4:30 PM on both days between Woodlawn St. and the entrance to the high school parking lot. It will be safe to drive on when it is not barricaded. Students will not be in session for school on either of these days: Friday (School Improvement, staff-only) and Monday (Columbus Day). Access to the school buildings will still be available through the Route 150 entrance. The Unit Office and Transportation Dept will be accessible from the Woodlawn St. entrance.

High School Girls Golf Qualified as a team for the IHSA State Tournament yesterday, by advancing out of the El Paso Sectional. Elle Filarski finished second overall in the Sectional and will be playing at the State Tournament on October 18-19 in Decatur with the rest of the team- Izzy Mayes, Maggie Wargo, Laura Wilkinson, Ivy Skinner, and Sydney McLaughlin. The Girls and Boys TVHS Golf teams performed well at the 2024 HOIC Golf Tourney. The Girls placed 1st as a team- while Elle Filarski (1st), Maggie Wargo (3rd), and Laura Wilkinson (8th) all landed All-Conference Honors in the top 10. The Boys placed 3rd as a team, missing out on 2nd place by 2 strokes. Brayden Stombaugh (5th) earned All-Conference Honors in the boys top 10. Great job by both teams!
