The Transportation Department had fun today! The Pre K read "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the School Bus" and got to see one of the buses and sit in the drivers seat! They learned some bus rules and got a ride!

Did you know that Tri-Valley High School partners with Heartland Community college to provide dual credit courses? These classes are tuition free when taught by our staff! Just in the past 3 years our students have earned 1780 college credit hours, and our families have saved over $300,000 in tuition costs! #togetherTV3

Reminder! Complete self checks and do not send anyone to school that has covid related symptoms. If anyone at home has symptoms, please keep everyone home until a negative test or alternate diagnosis is established. We need everyone to be on board.

Tri-Valley Families: Kindergarten screening will begin the week of March 1st - March 5th. These screenings help get an accurate number for class sizes in our Kindergarten rooms for next year. As of right now, we have 50 students signed up for screening. This is a low number compared to years past. As a result, we are looking for anyone that has not signed up for kindergarten screening to please call the elementary office to set up a screening appointment. Eligible students must turn 5 on or before September 1st. If you or anyone you know with kindergarten age students has not signed up yet please encourage them to call 309-378-2031 and we will get them set up for screening!

Out of an abundance of caution, Tri-Valley will be canceling in-person learning for tomorrow, February 15th. The forecast shows a combination of dangerous wind chills, snow accumulation, and blowing snow. We will be utilizing a remote learning day. Stay warm and stay safe.

We are ready for another great week at Tri-Valley. It is more important than ever that EVERYONE conducts daily symptom checks, and stays home if ill (or family member is ill or getting tested). DO NOT be the person that sends a sick child to school. Our success depends on everyone making good decisions. Many pediatricians are now offering PCR tests with quick turnarounds (an hour). That's a game changer!! If you're not sure about a symptom, please be cautious and STAY HOME. Protect our students and staff!!! #togetherTV3

Congratulations to the TV Speech team for a great showing at Regionals on Saturday.  Seth Coughlin represented TV in Impromptu speaking and ended his season with an 8th place showing.  Lauren Christopher broke to finals and placed 5th in Informative Speaking.  Charlotte Watson (Extemporaneous Speaking) and Kaitlyn Jones (Humorous Interpretation) both placed 3rd and advanced to Sectionals next Saturday.  Also advancing to Sectionals is the Humorous Duet of Kaitlyn Jones and Anthony Decker by placing 2nd.  Great Job to everyone!  I am very proud of you all!!

Tri-Valley CUSD #3 will be IN SESSION today 1/26/21. We've been out all morning and while most roads are salted and improving, there are a a few rural roads that are still quite slick. Drive slow, proceed with caution, take your time, and be careful. Our busses may be a little late in some instances as we carefully move through our routes.

Last night our board of education approved a recommendation to have ALL students return on February 1st. Students that chose remote learning for this 9 weeks will remain remote. However, those in 7th-12th grade that have been blended to this point will begin daily in person attendance on Monday, February 1st, 2021. Dismissal times will remain unchanged to allow our staff time to work with remote or quarantined students, and to provide additional planning time. A video outlining this decision and associated rationale can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?hd=1&v=4yzB-A0ukOg&feature=youtu.be. I ask that ALL parents view the video to hear about updates, changes, and protocols moving forward. Go VIKINGS!!!!

We’ve had a great week back! Please help us by keeping children that are symptomatic home with all siblings. Also, if anyone in the home is being tested due to suspicion of COVID, please keep everyone home pending results. We need everyone on board! #togetherTV3
